A blog about our crazy life and how we got to where we are...which is nowhere yet! How we lived the American dream in the spur of a moment and are now digging ourselves out of the hole. You will cry, hopefully laugh and take away a little lesson learned from our experiences. At least that's what we hope! Enjoy our blog/life.

Oat Bran yummy muffins

So easy and so so yummy!
Check out the pic below, I added baby food to them. During the process of teaching Brady to eat with his hands, etc. He took a liking to it and now refuses his baby food from a jar. So, in order for him to get his vitamins and whatever else the baby food provides I have been thinking of ways to put in into food he can eat with his little pickers!
What you need: 1 box Kroger Brand, Low fat, No Cholesterol Oat Bran muffin mix. 1 cup raisins {whatever kind you like}{and optional} Cooking Spray. 2 1/2 jars of your favorite fruit baby food.
Follow the recipe on the back of the box, but just add your baby food jars to the mix and bake as directed.
As you can see above, I popped these little yummies in my mini muffin pan {by Pampered Chef purchased from my good friend Elizabeth Fryman
And wah-la! they fit in my little guys mouth perfectly!  He loves to grab them and go, the sad thing is, he's not crawling yet so he crawls and squishes them all over the floor!
Oh! A big yummy bite!  And he is eating his baby food and does not even know it!  What else can I come up with?  Got any suggestions?  I would love to hear them, and they will be featured here on the blog.

Screen Capture Software {Perfect for Bloggers}

Screen Capture Software
This software is perfect for bloggers!
Looks pretty neat to me.  I think I am going to use it!
It places a little camera down in the view bar next to your time (along with all your other important stuff - which makes it easy to find in a moments time) so when you find something you would like to blog about or save to your computer, you just hit that little camera.  And you can crop as well!

Here is some info directly from the site:
- Supports hotkeys, auto-saving, clipboard
- Automatically copies screenshots to the clipboard
- Tracks capture history, auto-saves captured images
- Saves files in BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF formats
- Auto-names captured images

Head on over to the link above and check it out!

A month before you turn one!

So, my amazing little Brady is 11 months old and I just can't believe it.  This post is me fully rehashing this day 10/12/2010.
It started with my little stubborn bed bug in our bed this morning (he had been there since 4:40am) he had such a rough night of tossing and turning he ended up sleeping until 9am.  Once mommy finally rolled out of bed, after Brady tapping on my face and repeating "GAH" a million times, we headed to the kitchen for breakfast.  After working all month on his sign language, Brady finally put it to good use this morning!  We taught him, "more" and "all done" to help with eating.  Up until now, it's been a whiny demand for more food instead of a polite one (but he is a baby and it's totally understandable).  Anyways, sitting down to breakfast...I had just given Brady a bite of his food and started to text Kev to say good morning, I then noticed a motion out of the corner of my eye, and it was my awesome baby boy giving me the sign language for "more".  SO PROUD!
Some other adorable things you do/did today!

As mommy vacuumed the floor he clapped and giggled...double cute!
Still in the process of learning peek-a-boo, Brady just puts his hands in the air and then pull them down, never covering his eyes!  Extremely cute!!
Totally adores his daddy!  Way too cute!
Gets really excited now when I say papaw! I'm loving it! and so is my dad :)

It has been an amazing 11 months with our sweet baby boy! I cannot wait to celebrate the day of his birth in one month :)  It is not only his birthday but the day mine and Kev's lives changed forever! for the best!  What a sweet sweet day!

Work to do..Um, Now?

Okay, so I have so much work to do between my photography and my stationery. What a perfect time for my little booger to start crawling all over the place (on top of that pulling himself up on anything he can get ahold of).
Most days it is just him and I until about 8:30 p.m. and by the time daddy gets home, well...lets just say he ends up chaising me around while I am chaising our little booger around. I'm barking out orders! "Grab that" "Watch out for this!" "He's headed your way!" "Oh no! He spilled my water and is playing in it...grab a towel!" There is no shortage of things to do when hanging out with Brady. He wakes every morning with a new to-do list.

So, I think it is time for daddy to have a daddy and Brady day out so mommy can get some work done...raise your hand if you agree! thanks, I appreciate your support!

Wish me luck!

Company and a fried ball of Mac n' Cheese!

Howdy everyone! So my good friend just created a new blog called the Peppy Palate and I really never had the desire to cook or bake anything gourmet (I just usually buy it in a box) until I saw her recipes. They are awesome. Just reading them makes my mouth water! (those are my pics above, and this is her much prettier pic down below!)

Moving along, the recipe I had my eye on was the Stuffed & Fried Mac n' Cheese with Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sauce }Booyah!
This was off the hook (like my lingo?) I mean, at what point in my 'not so much in the kitchen life' would I have ever thought to create something remotely close to this. And believe it or not, I merely pulled it off. I only had a few flubs <-- this would explain why my favorite cookbook is called Cooking for Blonde's First thing I did was put the cayenne pepper in the sauce...iy yi yi! And then I didn't pack my mac balls tight enough and they started to fall apart shortly after I arranged them on the platter to serve. Oh and I can not freaking chop basil for the life of me! Can someone tell me where these pro chefs get their every so dangerously sharp knives? I am pretty sure my knifes are expensive and sharp...I guess it's all in the wrist?
Closing up, hubby loved it guest loved it! Oh and my husband for once did not saturate his meal in olive oil. (he said that he saw how much work I put into it so he thought he would lay off the oil this time) Hello! I put hard work into mashed potatoes! haha

Goodnight friends

Stationery VS Photography

Late post, I know! I am meeting with my first Bride tomorrow for photography. I am so nervous because I have had crazy experiences with brides in the past and the stationery. Think about how much more important the photos are than the stationery! I just need to keep my head clear and know that this oppurtunity has come along for a reason :)

Luckily she knows that this will be my first wedding and that I am a newbie. I did one wedding before just from my guest seat. The photos were pretty good but they were taken with a mini digital video recorder. Now I have my big wig cam and am ready to move! I just need to get the motivation. I think I am going to practice my moves in my backyard! haha

Goodnight friends!

Mommy/Stationer/Photographer - How?

How do I manage to do the stationery business, photography AND be a mommy?
This is a question I often ask myself.
Well, of course, I am a mommy first! Even when it comes to designing stationery or working on an order - if Brady needs me, he needs me. If Brady wants to chew on a freshly created and cut invitation...well, what's done is done and I just have to re-do! haha
I once took Brady to a photo shoot with me...let's just say it went a little longer than planned. Don't get me wrong, he was great and did pretty well but when you are on a tight schedule and are charging by the hour the last thing a client wants is a baby around taking all their photo time. For that, we hired a babysitter! Yay!! Babysitter Katie to the rescue! And yes, we went with the adorable high school babysitter...Brady is rambunxious and very heavy, the babysitter needs to be alert and fit! Just say'n.
testing out my mobile post to see if it works!
